Christian Louboutin Handbags - Shoes & Handbags - Designer Replica Handbags

July 20, 2007

The past few months have been a very active period for the Bahia Sail Racing Association (BSRA). Our initial fund raising effort was highly successful, and provided us with a reserve of funds that we have been using in ways which have greatly enhanced sailing activities in our target areas. Since this fund raising drive ended, we have been very pleased indeed to receive several substantial donations. I would like to express my appreciation to all of you who have contributed.

The awards we have made to date amount to a bit more than $14,000. It was a pleasure to provide financial assistance to the two BCYC Distinguished Racing Members, Eric Monroe and Eric Lidicis, who are conducting campaigns for a berth on the 2008 U. S. Olympic Sailing Team in the Star class. The time is approaching for the finals, which will be sailed in Marina del Rey, and we will all be following this regatta with great interest. We have also contributed a substantial sum to Steve Brown’s 2007 Transpac effort, in the form of a grant from BSRA, and also through contributions made to BSRA for Steve during the fund raising evening held at BCYC shortly before his start. What an agonizing year for the Transpac! The boats have just been crawling to Hawaii, and just now after some eleven days out the lead boat in Steve’s Division has entered the trades. There is a lot of moaning and groaning in the fleet for sure. Finally, BSRA has also made substantial contributions to the BCYC Junior Racing Program, and a grant has been directed to the UCI Sailing Team. By the way, the UCI Sailing Team is, according to the Sailing World ranking system, the top ranked West Coast college sailing team ahead of such traditional powerhouses such as Stanford and USC, and it is ranked seventh in the nation. All of us in the Newport Beach Harbor community can be very proud indeed of our hometown young men and women.

To continue these activities, of course, we need your donation. Your tax deductible donation can be mailed to the Bahia Sail Racing Association, 5061 Berean Lane, Irvine, California 92603. Of course, when you donate you will receive written acknowledgement of your contribution from us. We are excited about our impact to date, and we look forward to continuing our high level of activity. To do this we need your help!

Sincerely,

Doug Mills, President
